Waiting...

Today marks 3months since we have been on deck, meaning next in line to recieve a referral for our children. Almost 7 months since our dossier was sent to Ethiopia, and still no word. I am suprised that we have not heard anything yet, but God is not. He will bring our children to us according to His perfect will and timing. I find comfort in His word, knowing the Lord has much to say about waiting on Him.

Psalm 27:14
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

Psalm 33:20
We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.

Psalm 38:15
I wait for you, O LORD; you will answer, O Lord my God.

Isaiah 30:18
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

I came across this article from the Denver post and am so encouraged to see that God is at work in the lives of orphans, how blessed we are to be a part of what the Lord is doing! Please read this and consider how you might take an active role in meeting the needs of the orphaned.

Photo Update!

Emma couldn't stand it any longer, it was time to go for a ride!

We had a great time celebrating the resurrection of our Savior!

What does God say about adoption?

Learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. John 14:18

But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. Psalm 10:14b

Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to be children of God. John 1:12

For as many as are lead by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear; but you received the Spirit of Adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father”. The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Romans 8:14-16

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27

Lord when did we see You hungry and feed You or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick or in prison and come to You? And the King will answer and say to them “Assuredly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren you did it to me.” Matthew 27:35-40

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
